Orbis has won two contracts to secure and protect empty properties in the North West city of Salford.

Salix Homes and New Prospect Housing Limited, Salford City Council’s Housing Managementorganisations, which between them manage more than 26,000 homes on behalf of Salford City Council, have both appointed Orbis Property Protection.

Paul Lister, Maintenance Manager for Salix Homes, said: “Orbis’ bid was not only highly competitive, but also placed great emphasis on providing excellent service to both ourselves and the communities we work in, helping us create safer, stronger communities in Central Salford”

Nigel Sedman, Assistant Director Property and Asset Management at New Prospect, added: “We are confident that this partnership will benefit homes, estates and communities in Salford and will help us to deliver a high quality housing management service to our customers.”

Orbis, which clears, cleans and secures more than 35,000 properties a year for over 1,000 clients, has been awarded the contracts for two years.

The company’s Sales and Marketing Director Nic Bealey said the contract wins demonstrated how cities like Salford not only wanted to make empty properties secure, but were also looking for solutions to help deter crime, without blighting the neighbourhood.

Nic said: “At Orbis we offer a package of tailored services, including insurance cover, 24/7 alarms, web-based monitoring and less visible security, so both clients and the community have peace of mind.”
